HugeDesk

1.0 is here · Local-first · No accounts

The infinite-canvas IDE that runs on your machine.

HugeDesk 1.0 ships a brand-new shell, an embedded browser, multi-agent orchestration and access from your phone. Editors, terminals, Git and an AI agent that runs 100% locally via Ollama. Bring your own keys only if you want frontier models.

HugeDesk 1.0 in action: panels, terminal and AI agent on the infinite canvas

Everything is a panel on one infinite canvas.

Infinite canvas

Floating, movable, resizable panels. Zoom, pan, and multiple workspaces — each with its own canvas.

New «Borde» shell

Ribbon, rail, status bar and orb. Nothing floats over the canvas: chrome pushes the edge instead of covering your work.

The Huge orb

Your thread with Huge is born in the orb and becomes a canvas panel when it needs room. No chat overlay.

100% local AI (Ollama)

The default. No accounts, no token costs, no credit limits. Lists your installed local models.

Real terminal

xterm.js + node-pty with persistent history, a smart action bar, Git branch and active ports.

Monaco editor

The VS Code engine: format-on-save, minimap, preview vs pinned tabs.

Native Markdown & docs

Toggle raw ↔ rendered, real read-only mode, plus PDF, Word and image preview.

Full Git

Side-by-side diff, stage/commit/branches/push/pull, file tree with Git status and ripgrep search.

Embedded browser

A browser panel that walks in already logged in: it imports your desktop browser's session, per-panel partitions, history and back/forward.

File manager

Browse, open and drop workspace files straight onto the canvas as panels.

Multi-agent + orchestrator

Claude Code, Codex, Cursor Agent, Gemini, Aider or OpenCode detected live in any terminal, with a per-space orchestrator that summarizes what each one is doing — on demand, zero background tokens.

Agent flow editor

Wire multi-agent runs as a flow, watch the run breathe in the ribbon, and recover agents that stall.

HugeDesk Remote

Your session from your phone: workspaces, panels and full terminal input in a PWA. End-to-end encrypted — the relay only forwards opaque bytes.

Multi-monitor

A second window on another screen with the canvas synced live, each window on its own space.

Local voice-to-text

Offline transcription (EN/ES, auto-detect) with multi-vendor GPU acceleration.

Guided tour

An interactive tour walks you through the canvas, the rail and the orb the first time you land.

A workspace that gets out of your way.

Questions

Is HugeDesk still in beta?+

No — 1.0 is out. Stable release with the new «Borde» shell, embedded browser, file manager, multi-agent orchestration and Remote. The app auto-updates itself from there.

Does my data leave my machine?+

No. AI runs locally by default. Nothing goes to the cloud unless you explicitly enable a BYOK provider or turn on Remote — and the app always tells you when it does.

Does HugeDesk work offline?+

Yes. Editors, terminals, Git, the file manager and the AI agent on Ollama all work with no internet at all. Only downloads, BYOK cloud models and Remote need a connection.

Do I need an account?+

No. There is no login or user system. Everything lives on your machine, including the license.

Which platforms?+

Linux (RPM + AppImage), macOS (Apple Silicon & Intel, signed and notarized) and Windows 10/11. Every release builds all three.

How is it different from VS Code or a browser-based IDE?+

HugeDesk is a desktop app built around an infinite canvas instead of a tab bar: editors, terminals, browsers and agents are panels you place side by side. It uses the same Monaco engine as VS Code, but the AI runs on your own machine and there is no account, telemetry or cloud workspace.

Which AI models can I run?+

Any model you have installed in Ollama runs for free out of the box. With a BYOK license you can also connect your own Anthropic, OpenAI, Groq, Gemini or OpenRouter keys for frontier cloud models.

Can I use Claude Code, Codex or other CLI agents inside it?+

Yes. Claude Code, Codex, Cursor Agent, Gemini, Aider and OpenCode are detected live in any terminal panel, and the per-space orchestrator summarizes what each one is doing on demand.

What does BYOK unlock?+

Connecting your own API keys from Anthropic, OpenAI, Groq, Gemini or OpenRouter to use frontier cloud models inside the IDE.

How does Remote stay private?+

The desktop opens an outbound connection and every frame is end-to-end encrypted: the relay forwards opaque bytes and never sees your shell, panels or keys. Pairing is by QR, and you can revoke a phone at any time.

Is it really a one-time payment?+

BYOK is: $200 once, no subscription, lifetime updates. Only Remote is a monthly subscription, and it's optional.

Do you resell API access?+

No. You pay the AI providers directly with your own keys. The license only unlocks the integration.
